I know this is an entertainment site, but let's step outside of that for a minute... or better yet, Inside. Because Universal Law says that before you can have a fabulous life in the material world, your inner world need be properly maintained and entertained. And, this brings us to The Silence. It's the place where one communes with God, Allah, The Creator, Life Force, All That Is, and it's where everything that materializes in one's life absolutely happens first. With good intention, ideas, desire and imagination--magic happens. But there are many distractions in this world that get in the way of one's personal magic. FEAR, MEDIA and TECHNOLOGY can kill us if we so allow. But if we"re smart, and on top of our game, we can instead them our bitches.

It had come to be - for a short while -- that I was uncomfortable in the Silence. The night would not turn-over if technology was not lulling me to sleep. Like clockwork for about a month, at about one a.m., I'd rolled over in my sleep, reach over for the remote and TURN THE TV OFF without missing a beat of my dream. And every morning I would wake up and give Thanks to God but shamefully it was the morning news that was more so the catalyst into the day. Images of violence, crime and natural disasters escorted me out the front door and drove me work, resting in my spirit until the next big story. Extra, Extra! "Robert Blake is free, Scott Peterson is sentenced to death and Lil' Kim is found guilty of lying to a grand jury. A whirlpool of images press themselves into my psyche -- where all of my most precious memories, dreams, desires, and fears live and breathe. Nothing as damaging should be allowed into my impressionable mind, especially not unguarded. Images are running around in my mind with a fake i.d., under the guise of harmless babble, imitation magical experiences are allowed into my subconscious at the simple the press of a button.

The images dazzle me and make me feel as if I'm not whole without them. They shouldn't be able to roam the crevices of my skull, leaving foot prints of their GUILTY SOULS. "Program it, de-program it, do whatever they damn well pleased in my mind ? No! I'm not having it." So, finally, I snapped out of it, as I always do, just in time to reclaim myself. Yet these images continue to infiltrate, hiding behind Hollywood shades. Even though I'm back, the fight is not over. I have to stay in shape for the next go-round and that means discipline, focus and documenting my awareness for confirmation of its existence. Tangible evidence is the only evidence. AWKEUP OEPPLE.

Images consume me. This technology age is stealing my mind, my son's and your mind too. TV commercials, magazine print ads, billboards, music videos, video games (hand held, in the home, in the car). It's all such a DISTRACTION. A clear mind paves the way for sound decisions. Decisions, which come to us from thought (intense or otherwise) and lead us each waking moment from situation to situation. The decision first determines whether we make a move, or not. When the decision is to make a move, another decision must be made about how to execute that move. Making moves is how we survive in this image run society, therefore sound decision making is the key to staying ahead of the game. We have to keep up with the latest and greatest or God forbid we appear to be less of a person. ONTOHWLE. To be considered a legitimate person in this capitalist society we must: Earn a college degree or two, own a small business or get a good corporate job, maintain good credit, buy an expensive foreign car, buy a nice house in a good neighborhood, travel, shop, always have the newest electronic gadgets, wear the hottest designer clothes, I mean this is the so called American dream -- for Americans. Did you notice that the family unit was not mentioned? Think about it.

But, for immigrants, America is where you they can have freedom of thought, speech and expression. And, that's just so long as they obey the law, know the pledge of allegiance, stay out of politics, get a job and pay their taxes. But is this really freedom? This can be asked and answered on many levels but I'm speaking out about the protection of our minds against unsolicited images and we are not free as long as our minds are being raped. This is a freedom that most don't even recognize is in their grasp. When we think freedom we think speech and action, not thought. We take it for granted. But the truth is, it's the most precious and powerful thing that God gave us.

The mind is place that is sanctioned for us to privately communicate with God about whatever we damn well please. It's supposed to be a No Fly Zone.  It's supposed to be the VIP room where only God and our individual selves are on the list. But the images have found a way for us to let them in without a condom. If we don't guard our minds the images will mold it into something over which we will no longer hold agency. The images violate us but it's so repetitious and pleasurable that it becomes something we think we need in our lives to make us whole. For example, it doesn't feel "normal" for me to not watch the morning news before work. And, that is no good. That is not right. And then I justify giving the images my time and attention by telling myself that I need to know : what's going on in the world; what the weather will be like; how traffic is flowing. ULBLSHTI. We are better off being guided by God, the Universal Mind, who has much stronger satellite power than Fox News.

What technology steals from us is much more valuable than all of the capital that Bill Gates has earned by claiming rights to land onto which he has no business treading. Silently ravaging our cargo by distracting us with the latest communication devices, wooing us with their methods, accessibility and vast possibilities. Bill Gates, the Age of Technology's Christopher Columbus. Remember, your soul is priceless no matter what designer is on your feet. I am thankful to be writing this as a reminder of my back-slide. Now, back in the Silence where I listen to crickets instead of "203 Hotties in Tinsel town, Episode 78" on VH1, and especially again, (I can't say it enough) my son's breathing, sound in heavenly sleep. There is no better sound to my heart than to hear my son's sound breaths as my fingers tap dance across the keyboard; an impromptu dance battle between myself and the words. For not MTV, E!, BET, AMC, NBC nor KRZME place me in a more comforting zone.

And, see, this is why music is such a beautiful thing. It comes straight from the soul and is pure in its form. And, if you're an artist of any genre you can be a part of the solution and not the problem. It's time to be The Individual that makes us special and let that Spirit shine in all that we do. If we take command of this innate power that we have, we will no longer be controlled by FEAR, MEDIA or TECHNOLOGY.

Please don't think me strange just think -- for yourself. Don't make decisions influenced by the images, make them with your heart and your conscience. Your soul is not for sale, nor is it something to be disregarded like an old sponge. Climb into it, mesh with it and expand. Build yourself a new and wonderful you. That's what it's for. And, remember, everyday is new. Plant the seed (idea, desire), water regularly with faith (belief, prayer, visualization) and IT WILL BECOME VISIBLE. OPEWRUFLUSTFF.

Peace & Blessings,
