Since the party (12/22) we spoke to Glasses via tmail (T-mobile Sidekick 2) to find out what's being going on with him since his deal signing. Our original magazine interview (9/09/05) was about him as an underground artist on the grind. It was time to catch up and find out what life is like now, after signing with a major for 1.7 million dollars. Yea, that's right, 1.7 mill!

G. Malone Follow-Up Interview Via Tmail on January 03, 2005

How were your Holidays? How did you bring in the New Year?

Holidays were cool, kicked it wit family, lot of who just came out the
woodworks since tha deal cracced but hey, u gotta love them too!

When we last spoke (9/9/05) you were grindin' in the underground, but now you are signed to a major label. What does the deal entail and how did it come about?

Well even during our first interview I was being courted by major
labels. I guess Sony finally convinced me! Either them or that bigg ass check....haha.....The deal was a 4 albums 1.7 million dollar deal with the birth of a new record label "Firin' Squad Ent/Sony".

How has the deal changed your lifestyle so far? What has been your biggest purchase?

I replaced the old 2001 pick up truck with a newer one. No Jewelry, no Benzes. I'm a black Jew! The duplex I just bought in ATL would be the biggest purchase.

What does this mean for your own label, Blu Division? I hear you already have signed artists. Tell me about it.

Blu Division is just a company that molds raw talent into business men. Everybody affiliated is industry savy and the ones who aren't are learnin. That company is ma brainchild. Its so much more than a record label. Blu Division's truly a coporation!

Your signing party at The Grande a few weeks ago (12/22/05) was cra-zy! Not only did you pay for an open bar (free all night) but you advertised it on the radio. Did you get the outcome that you expected? Did you have a good time? Talk to me about it.

It was the biggest party ever thru by any rapper in L.A. There was so many gangstas, business tycoons, and honeygirls there! I think 350 people were arrested for drunk drivin' after that party. Hahaha. It was successful, but I didn't have a good time. I show all mah folks so much love I spent 3/4 of the nitee tryna make sure ma regular supporters got in. I even waitin in line wit um. 2000 plus people tryna to get in 1 club. It was amazing.....Shout out to the West Coast!

For the article, I'm reviewing the video footage from The Grande.  Just got a reminder of how damn flyy you were. Tell me about the jacket! Designer? Where'd u buy it?

haha! Thanks, u kno a nigga try sometimes! It was a Pelle Pelle jump off.....I copped it from ma man Carlos in the Carson Mall Men's Land! Me and ma boy Show went down there and got super dougie. Matter fact Roccett was in there gettin fresh too!!! Haha shout out 2 ma boy Roccett, he was in the house that night. Yeah Carlos gave us all deals! Shout out to Dubbz on Main/Manchester for the L.A. Fitted, and picasso painted white ones! The hood love a nigga!

A few days after your deal signing Game was on Big Boy's morning radio show (Power 106) talkin' about how the New West's up and coming artists aren't giving him his due respect for opening the doors. What are your thoughts on this?

I think Chuck said that due to the problem he's having with a few of the newer West Coast cats. Its making him think a lot of people aren't appreciative. Dude knows me and knows how I feel. My whole crew is proud of Game. He was instrumental in my success beyond him selling records.

It is your relationship with The Game's Blackwallstreet label and its affiliates?

That situation is in limbo..... There experiencing technical
difficulty.....but I still fucc wit everyone on both sides of that.

How has all your new success affecting your love life?

It hasn't!! Made me look more attractive!!! Hahahahahaha

Am I right to assume you've been spending lots of time in the lab lately?

Nawwww, I'm not a lab rat. I got a special formula about writing
records, and it doesn't involved sleeping in the lab!

Tell me about your part in the song 'New West Order" featuring a host of New West Artists including Problem, Noni Spitz, Mykstro, Roccett and Maylay to name a few. How did this come about? What is your motivation for being a part of a collab such as this?

Prob [Problem] is mah dude......he asked, so it wasn't a problem.
When I heard tha finish results, I was 10 times happier I was even able to be part of such a collab. I am the President on this New West Movement. I live it everyday. So doing stuff like that is an honor 2 me.

We can we expect your first CD from Sony Urban/Big Ego/ Blu Division? What can you tell us about it?

Sony wants a July release, I want a September release. I wanna make sure my buzz is up to par. "Beach Cruiser" is a musical masterpiece. I'm havin fun everytime I'm in the studio directing that movie! When it drop, go cop it, turn out ya lights and enjoy! Guaranteed to be one of the most entertaining albums ever!
